Important travel notice

Follow the detour to reach Ebuta

Storm damage has affected the roads to the farm, and Franschhoek Pass is closed for the foreseeable future. Please do not travel to Ebuta via Franschhoek.

Travel via Somerset West and Grabouw, then continue towards Villiersdorp on the R321. Just before the Theewaterskloof bridge, turn right onto the R43 towards Caledon, also called Draaiberg Road, and follow the detour around the dam wall to approach the farm from the Villiersdorp side.

Google Maps is currently confused by the road closure. Do not rely on the map pin alone; follow the written Ebuta directions for the final approach.

From Grabouw, drive towards Villiersdorp on the R321. GPS may suggest an indirect route; ignore it and remain on the R321 until just before the Theewaterskloof bridge.
Just before the bridge across the Theewaterskloof Dam, turn right onto the R43 towards Caledon. This is also called Draaiberg Road on Google Maps and is the detour road you need to take to reach the farm.
Continue along Draaiberg Road until you reach the next R43 T-junction. Turn left towards Worcester and Villiersdorp.
Follow the R43 around the Theewaterskloof Dam until you reach the R45 T-junction.
Turn left at the T-junction towards Franschhoek and Grabouw. You may see a Local Access Only sign; continue along the R45/R321 for approximately 5.5 km. The farm entrance, marked by white pillars, will be on your left. Use the Google Maps pin only as a guide to the entrance, as it can be easy to miss.
At the entrance, travel through the gates and follow the road down towards the dam. Follow the signs to Lake Lodge.
